# Trimble R12 / R10 (TSC7 / TSC5)

These steps connect a Trimble R12 / R10 (TSC7 / TSC5) to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Trimble Access. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Trimble Access.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power up and pair the receiver: Switch on your R12 (or R10 / R8s) and the TSC7 / TSC5 controller. Trimble Access connects to the receiver over Bluetooth or cable; the corrections travel over the controller's own internet (its Wi-Fi or SIM). Make sure the controller has working internet before heading out.
2. Open or create your RTK survey style: From the main menu tap Settings > Survey styles. Reuse the built-in 'RTK' style or tap New to create one of type RTK, select it and tap Edit. (On older builds this lives under Configuration / Survey styles.)
3. Set the rover data link to Internet connection: Open Rover data link and set the Type field to 'Internet connection'. This tells the rover to receive RTK corrections over NTRIP rather than via a radio.
4. Open the GNSS correction source: Tap the context menu (small arrow) next to the correction-source field to open the GNSS correction source tab, then tap New. On Trimble Access 2021-era builds the equivalent is a 'GNSS contact' under Settings / Connections / GNSS contacts - it is the same thing.
5. Turn on NTRIP: Set the 'Use NTRIP' switch to Yes. Leave 'Use NTRIP v1.0' off unless the connection fails and you need to force the older protocol.
6. Enter the caster address and port: In the IP Address (server / host) field enter rtkpremium.xyz and in the IP port field enter 2101. Do not add 'http\://' or a trailing slash - just the host name and the port.
7. Enter the mountpoint: Set 'Connect directly to Mountpoint' to Yes and enter COMMON (in capitals). Alternatively leave it off and pick COMMON from the caster's source table when you start the survey.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: In the NTRIP username and NTRIP password fields, type the unique credentials from YOUR Premium Positioning welcome email. They are typed into the device only and are never sent to the Premium Positioning website.
9. Save the correction source: Leave proxy and TLS options off unless your IT team told you otherwise, then tap Accept / Store to save the correction source.
10. Choose the internet path and store the style: Back in Rover data link, use the context menu next to 'GNSS internet source' and select where the internet comes from - normally 'Controller internet' (the TSC7/TSC5's Wi-Fi or SIM). Tap Accept, then Store to save the style.
11. Start the survey: Open or create your job, tap the menu and choose Measure, and select this RTK style if prompted. You'll see 'Connecting to GNSS internet source', then the internet-source icon appears in the status bar.
12. Select the mountpoint if prompted: If you didn't tick 'Connect directly to Mountpoint', the source table appears - select COMMON. If you set it to connect directly, it connects to COMMON automatically.
13. Confirm RTK: Fixed: The survey initialises once enough satellites are tracked. Confirm the status bar shows 'RTK: Fixed' (centimetre-level) before measuring. If it stays 'RTK: Float' for more than a minute or two, see the notes below.

### If the fix will not hold

Tips: (1) The controller must have live internet (Wi-Fi or SIM) - without it there is no NTRIP connection. (2) If it won't connect, check the host has no typos and no 'http\://', the port is 2101, and the mountpoint is COMMON in capitals. (3) An empty source table or login error almost always means a wrong username/password - re-enter carefully from the welcome email. (4) If it only connects with 'Use NTRIP v1.0' ticked, leave that on. (5) Sitting on 'RTK: Float' usually means weak mobile signal, too few satellites, or overhead obstruction - move to clearer sky. Exact wording differs between Access versions; 'GNSS contact' and 'GNSS correction source' are the same thing.
