# Trimble R1 / R2

These steps connect a Trimble R1 / R2 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Trimble Mobile Manager (Android/iOS) + a GIS app. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Trimble Mobile Manager (Android/iOS) + a GIS app.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Install Trimble Mobile Manager: On Android or iOS, install Trimble Mobile Manager (TMM) and open it. TMM is the free utility that configures the R1/R2 and feeds your position to your GIS app. Sign in if prompted.
2. Power on and pair the receiver over Bluetooth: Hold the receiver's power button until the LED blinks. In the OS Bluetooth settings, pair the receiver (it appears by model/serial, sometimes 'GNSS'). If a PIN is requested, the Trimble default is 0000 unless changed.
3. Select the receiver as the position source in TMM: In TMM open the Position source (GNSS receiver) setting, set type to Bluetooth, list connected/nearby devices, and select your R1/R2. Wait for connected status. Wording varies slightly by version.
4. R2 only: confirm a correction-capable option is active: The R2 needs an RTK Rover (real-time corrections) option/subscription enabled for cm RTK from an NTRIP caster. If you only see SBAS/autonomous accuracy, the option may not be active - contact Premium Positioning or your dealer.
5. Open Configuration: Tap the Configuration (gear) icon and select Configuration to reach the correction settings.
6. Set the correction source to Custom local: Tap GNSS correction source and select 'Custom local' - the option for a third-party NTRIP caster.
7. Choose the NTRIP protocol: For Protocol select 'NTRIP' (not Direct).
8. Enter the caster server and port: Server/URL: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101 - the same for every Premium Positioning customer.
9. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Set the corrections account username/password to the personal credentials from your welcome email - unique to you; do not use anyone else's.
10. Select the COMMON mount point: TMM connects and downloads the mount point table. Select COMMON. If the list doesn't load, re-check server, port and credentials.
11. Set the reference frame: Select the GNSS source reference frame; if unsure choose 'Auto'. Set a custom epoch only if advised.
12. Share TMM's position with your GIS app: Android: in TMM Application settings turn on 'Share location', then in Developer options set 'Select mock location app' to Trimble Mobile Manager and disable battery optimisation for TMM. iOS: TMM feeds the system location automatically - in your GIS app set the location source to the system/Trimble location. Confirm the GIS app reads the external receiver.
13. Confirm RTK Fixed: Watch TMM (and the GIS app's accuracy): with corrections flowing it should reach 'RTK Fixed' at cm-level. If stuck on Float, leave it in open sky; if it never fixes, recheck COMMON, credentials, and sky view.

### If the fix will not hold

The R2 needs an active RTK Rover/correction option for cm RTK. Some TMM labels differ between versions and between Android and iOS (position source / GNSS receiver, GNSS correction source, Share location) - match the equivalent option. Internet (mobile data or Wi-Fi) is required for the NTRIP stream.
