# Trimble Penmap for Android

These steps connect a Trimble Penmap for Android to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Trimble Penmap (Android) / Trimble Mobile Manager. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Trimble Penmap (Android) / Trimble Mobile Manager.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Before you start: Have your tablet/phone online (Wi-Fi or SIM data) and your Trimble GNSS receiver charged and paired over Bluetooth. NTRIP corrections come over the internet. Keep your welcome email handy - it has YOUR personal NTRIP username and password.
2. Pick where corrections are configured: On an R-series receiver (R2/R8/R10/R12), set the NTRIP source inside Penmap (next steps). On a Catalyst DA2, the source is normally set in Trimble Mobile Manager (TMM) and Penmap uses 'Trimble Corrections Hub' - see the DA2 step at the end. If unsure, try the Penmap path first.
3. Open GNSS settings in Penmap: In Penmap, touch-and-hold the GNSS button and tap the settings icon, or open the map menu and choose 'GNSS'. Wording varies slightly by version - look for 'GNSS'.
4. Select your GNSS receiver: In 'GNSS receiver', set Manufacturer to Trimble, then choose Model and Connection (typically Bluetooth) so Penmap connects. Tap 'Info' to confirm it's connected.
5. Add a real-time correction source: Go to 'Real-time corrections' and create/edit a source. Enter a Service Name you'll recognise (e.g. 'Premium Positioning').
6. Choose NTRIP as the service type: In 'Service Type' select 'NTRIP', then tap 'Next'.
7. Enter the Premium Positioning caster: Enter the caster manually rather than from the Caster Name drop-down: server/address rtkpremium.xyz, Port 2101. (Depending on version the address field may read 'IP Address' or 'Caster Name' - enter rtkpremium.xyz there.)
8. Select the COMMON mount point: Tap 'Select stream' (the mount point / source-table list) and choose 'COMMON'. If it won't load, recheck rtkpremium.xyz and port 2101, then retry - the list is pulled live.
9. Enter YOUR NTRIP credentials: When prompted for user name and password, enter the personal NTRIP credentials from your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. Tap 'OK' to save the source.
10. Start corrections and check the GNSS badge: On the map, the GNSS/correction button turns green when corrections are received from your NTRIP stream. Green means data from Premium Positioning is reaching the receiver. Red means none arriving - recheck data connection, caster, mount point and credentials.
11. Confirm a fixed, centimetre solution: Wait for the receiver to converge. Penmap shows position quality on the GNSS button (satellite count, estimated accuracy) and the on-map cursor turns green within your quality limits. A fixed RTK solution shows \~1 - 3 cm estimated accuracy. Don't record points until accuracy is within tolerance. (Penmap reports quality via the badge/cursor and accuracy figure rather than the literal words 'RTK Fixed'.)
12. Catalyst DA2: set NTRIP in Trimble Mobile Manager: For a Catalyst DA2, open Trimble Mobile Manager (TMM), choose a local/external NTRIP service, and enter server rtkpremium.xyz, port 2101, mount point COMMON, and YOUR welcome-email credentials. Save, then in Penmap select 'Trimble Corrections Hub' as the real-time corrections service. (TMM's field labels vary by version - look for the NTRIP/correction-source screen.)

### If the fix will not hold

R-series receivers: configure NTRIP inside Penmap. Catalyst DA2: configure NTRIP in Trimble Mobile Manager, then select Trimble Corrections Hub in Penmap. Screen/field names differ between Penmap/TMM versions - match by meaning. A fixed solution is confirmed by a green GNSS badge/cursor and cm-level estimated accuracy rather than a literal 'RTK Fixed' label.
