# Trimble Catalyst DA2

These steps connect a Trimble Catalyst DA2 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Trimble Mobile Manager (Android) + a GIS/field app. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Trimble Mobile Manager (Android) + a GIS/field app.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Check your Catalyst subscription: You need a paid Catalyst subscription that allows custom/third-party (local) corrections. On Catalyst Free, Configuration changes are NOT applied, so the NTRIP source below is ignored. If unsure, check with Trimble or your reseller first.
2. Power and pair the DA2: Power the DA2 (e.g. from a USB power bank) and press the power button - a flashing blue light means it's ready to pair. On Android, open Settings > Bluetooth and pair the DA2; a solid blue light means connected. Keep it in clear sky.
3. Sign in to Trimble Mobile Manager: Install and open Trimble Mobile Manager (TMM) from Google Play. Sign in with the Trimble Identity that holds your Catalyst subscription.
4. Select the DA2 as the position source: On the TMM Home screen open the position source menu ('Position source' > 'Select position source' > 'List connected devices') and choose your paired DA2. Wording varies slightly by TMM version.
5. Open Configuration: Tap the configuration icon in TMM and select 'Configuration' to open the receiver settings where corrections are set.
6. Set the correction source to Custom local: Tap 'GNSS correction source' and select 'Custom local' - this uses your own NTRIP caster instead of Trimble's services (RTX / Correction Hub).
7. Choose the NTRIP protocol: For 'Protocol' select 'NTRIP' (the alternative, 'Direct', is not used here).
8. Enter the caster server and port: Server/URL 'rtkpremium.xyz' and Port '2101'. TMM uses these to connect and download the mount point (source) table.
9. Enter your NTRIP username and password: Set the corrections account username/password to YOUR OWN Premium Positioning NTRIP credentials from your welcome email - per-customer; don't use example values.
10. Retrieve and select the mountpoint: Once TMM connects and the mount point list appears, select COMMON. If the list doesn't appear, re-check server, port, credentials and internet.
11. Set the reference frame: Select the 'GNSS source reference frame' used by the correction source. If unsure which frame Premium Positioning uses, contact us; otherwise 'Auto' lets TMM pick the best available. Set a custom epoch only if advised.
12. Connect and start corrections: Return Home and enable 'Connect to position source' so TMM streams NTRIP corrections to the DA2. Position quality moves from autonomous toward a corrected RTK solution.
13. Set TMM as your location provider: So your GIS/field app uses the corrected position: on Android enable Developer options, then under 'Select mock location app' choose Trimble Mobile Manager (keep TMM running in the background). In apps supporting Trimble TIP positions (e.g. ArcGIS Field Maps), select TMM/TIP inside that app instead.
14. Confirm an RTK Fixed solution: Check TMM (and your field app's GNSS status): with corrections and good sky view the solution should report RTK Fixed (cm precision). If it stays Float/autonomous, confirm open sky, an active NTRIP connection, and that your subscription permits custom corrections.

### If the fix will not hold

Requires a paid Catalyst subscription that permits custom/local NTRIP corrections - Catalyst Free ignores Configuration changes. Menu/field names vary slightly between TMM versions; look for the equivalent 'GNSS correction source', 'Custom local', 'Protocol/NTRIP', server/port, mount point and credential fields. RTK Fixed requires open sky and a live internet connection on the phone/tablet.
