# Trimble BD992 / BX992 (OEM)

These steps connect a Trimble BD992 / BX992 (OEM) to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Receiver web interface / commands. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Receiver web interface / commands.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power the receiver and connect to your PC: Power up the BD992/BX992 board (it must be powered before you can reach its web interface). Connect it to your computer or network via its Ethernet port, or by USB for RNDIS access. By default the receiver uses DHCP and gets its IP automatically.
2. Find the receiver's IP address: If you don't know the address, find it with Trimble's WinFlash utility: connect via the serial cable, launch WinFlash, go to Device Configuration, select your receiver model and serial port, and on the Operation Selection screen choose 'Configure ethernet settings' - the current IP is shown (you can also set a static IP here). Wording varies by WinFlash version.
3. Open the receiver web interface in a browser: On the same network, go to http\:// (e.g. <http://169.254.1.0>; add :port if it uses a non-standard web port). If prompted to log in, use your receiver's credentials - factory default is commonly admin / password, but use whatever your unit is set to. (You can also access the web UI over USB via RNDIS - see the receiver's RNDIS guide.)
4. Open I/O Configuration: In the menu, open 'I/O Configuration' > 'Port Configuration' - where you add and manage data ports and correction streams. If you don't see these exact words, look for the equivalent I/O / Ports / Correction settings section.
5. Add an NTRIP Client connection: From the Port Selection list, choose 'IBSS / NTRIP Client' to create a new NTRIP client port - this makes the receiver an NTRIP rover pulling corrections. Tick the 'Enable' checkbox.
6. Enter the caster address and port: In the 'Ntrip Caster http(s)://' field enter the host and port - Host: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101. Leave 'Enable SSL/TLS' unchecked unless told the caster requires it (this caster uses plain NTRIP on 2101).
7. Enter your NTRIP username and password: In 'User Name' and 'Password' enter the credentials from your welcome email (re-type in 'Verify Password' if shown) - unique to you; do not use anyone else's.
8. Set the mount point: In the 'Mount Point' field enter COMMON. Or click 'Get Mount Points' (after host/port/credentials are entered) to download the source table and select COMMON.
9. Confirm the correction format: The NTRIP corrections feed the RTK engine automatically once connected - normally no separate format to choose on the client side. If your firmware exposes an input/broadcast format option, leave it on default/auto to accept the standard RTCM messages.
10. Save and apply the settings: Apply/save the port configuration (OK/Save/Apply). The receiver connects to the caster and requests corrections on the COMMON mount point.
11. Check the connection status: Open 'I/O Configuration' > 'Port Summary' (or the NTRIP client port's status). A healthy connection shows connected/green with the mount point; the correction input in use is shown in bold. 'Invalid Mountpoint' or auth failures indicate a wrong mount point or credentials.
12. Verify an RTK Fixed solution: Open the receiver status / position page ('Receiver Status' > 'Position' or 'GNSS Position'). Confirm corrections are flowing - 'Age of Corrections' should be low (a few seconds) - and 'RTK Init' / solution status reads 'Fixed' (Fixed Integer RTK), the cm-level solution. 'Float' means it's still converging - allow clear sky and a short time.

### If the fix will not hold

Menu, button and field names are based on Trimble's OEM GNSS receiver web interface (BD9xx/BX9xx family) and can differ slightly between firmware versions - look for the closest equivalent (I/O Configuration / Port Configuration, NTRIP Client, NTRIP Caster, Mount Point). The board can also be configured by command interface; the web interface is the most accessible route. An RTK Fixed solution requires a clear sky view.
