# Topcon Pocket-3D / 3D-MC

These steps connect a Topcon Pocket-3D / 3D-MC to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Pocket-3D. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Pocket-3D.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Get the controller online first: Network RTK needs a live internet connection on the data collector. Before opening Pocket-3D, connect the controller to the internet via its SIM/data plan or a phone hotspot. Without data the NTRIP login fails. Have your NTRIP username/password (from your welcome email) ready.
2. Open Equipment setup: In Pocket-3D tap Setup, then Equipment. Tap New (or edit an existing config). Name it e.g. 'PP Network RTK'. Set Machine type to Range pole, Sensor to GNSS, Mounting location to Top of pole, Units as required, then Next.
3. Confirm the antenna page: Set Antenna type to match your Topcon receiver (e.g. HiPer VR), enter your Antenna height, and set Measured to for your pole. Set Connection (Pocket-3D) to how the controller talks to the receiver (Bluetooth for wireless). Tap Next.
4. Choose a network correction source: On the radio page, change Radio type to Direct Network Connection (switches from UHF radio to NTRIP over the internet). Connected to shows Virtual Port A. Leave Baud Rate at 115200 and set Format to RTCM 3.x.
5. Set the caster server address and port: Tap Set next to Base IP/port and enter the caster as host then port - Host: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101 (typically entered as rtkpremium.xyz/2101 or rtkpremium.xyz:2101). Tap Ok.
6. Open the NTRIP / Network Corrections dialog: Back on the radio page tap NET to open the Network Corrections (NTRIP) dialog. NTRIP Server should read rtkpremium.xyz with port 2101 from the previous step - confirm it, or type it if blank.
7. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: In NTRIP Username and NTRIP Password type the credentials from your welcome email, case-sensitive, no extra spaces. Unique to your account; do not share them.
8. Select the mountpoint: In Mount-point, select or type COMMON - the fixed Premium Positioning stream. If the dropdown can pull the source table, COMMON should appear once the login details are correct.
9. Set the network type and confirm: Set Network type to match the service (typically VRS for a single-mountpoint network RTK). Tap Ok to close the NTRIP dialog, then Next and Finish to save the configuration file.
10. Make this configuration current: Go to Setup > Equipment, highlight your new network config, and tap Ok. When prompted to set it as the current equipment, tap Yes.
11. Connect the rover: Go to Survey > Connect, select your Rover (receiver), and tap Ok. Pocket-3D connects to the receiver, logs in to rtkpremium.xyz:2101 on COMMON with your credentials, and streams RTCM 3.x corrections.
12. Confirm a Fixed solution: Watch the GNSS status: the Base Station and Rover icons (bottom-left) should turn green and the solution should report Fixed (not Float/Autonomous). A Fixed solution with cm precision means you're connected and ready. If it stays Float, check internet, that the username/password are exact, and that the mountpoint is COMMON.

### If the fix will not hold

Screen/button labels in Pocket-3D / 3D-MC vary by version: this guide follows the standard network-RTK flow (Setup > Equipment > radio page set to 'Direct Network Connection' > NET > NTRIP dialog). Where a label differs, look for the equivalent NTRIP / Network Corrections fields. For a single-mountpoint network, 'Network type' is usually VRS.
