# Topcon Magnet Field

These steps connect a Topcon HiPer VR / HiPer HR to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using MAGNET Field (FC-series controller). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* MAGNET Field (FC-series controller).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power up and pair the receiver: Switch on the HiPer VR / HR and the FC-series controller (FC-500 / FC-5000), open MAGNET Field, and open or create a job. On the Bluetooth/connection screen make sure the FC is paired with this receiver's serial number. Confirm a working SIM or Wi-Fi in the FC - on an FC-series controller the corrections arrive over the controller, not the receiver's own modem.
2. Open the configuration list: Tap Configure, then Survey (or Configurations) to reach the list of survey configurations. Highlight an existing Network RTK configuration and tap the edit (pencil) icon, or create a new one. Move through pages with the Next/arrow button.
3. Set the survey type to Network RTK: On the first page set Type = Network RTK and Corrections = VRS (the normal choice for a single-mountpoint caster). Rename the configuration here if you like, e.g. 'Premium Positioning'. Tap Next.
4. Configure the Rover Receiver: Set Receiver Model to HiPer VR or HiPer HR (whichever you own) and Protocol = NTRIP. Set Antenna to match, enter the Antenna Height (default 2.000 m) and measurement method, and an elevation mask (commonly 10 - 13°). Leave Simulation Mode unchecked. Tap Next.
5. Set the modem (data-collector internet): Set Modem Connect = Controller (sometimes 'Data Collector') so MAGNET sends corrections over the FC controller's cellular/Wi-Fi rather than an internal receiver modem - correct for the HiPer VR/HR on an FC-500/FC-5000. Tap Next.
6. Enter the NTRIP caster address and port: On the network / internet-info page enter Server / Host: rtkpremium.xyz and Port: 2101. If there's an IP-vs-Web toggle choose Web/host name; if the page uses a single field, enter rtkpremium.xyz:2101. Tap Next.
7. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Enter the NTRIP user ID and password from your Premium Positioning welcome email (case-sensitive, unique to your account). Tap Next. The credentials live only in this configuration on the controller and are only sent to the caster at sign-on.
8. Set the solution type to Fixed Only: On the Topo Survey Parameters page set Solution Type = Fixed Only for the Precise and Quick measurement buttons, and apply the same on the Stake settings page. Set epochs to average and tolerances to taste. Tap through the remaining pages.
9. Check the Advanced tab: Leave special options unchecked for standard network RTK. Satellite system GPS+GLONASS (or add Galileo/BeiDou - the HiPer VR/HR are multi-constellation), RTK Position = Extrapolation, Base Station Make = Automatic Detection. Save the configuration.
10. Connect and load the mount-point list: With the configuration selected, tap the connect icon to dial the caster. MAGNET requests the source table; if you see 'no mount point to connect to automatically, please select one', tap the drop-down to view the available streams.
11. Select the COMMON mount point: From the source-table drop-down, select COMMON. If the list is empty, the host/port/credentials are usually the cause - re-check rtkpremium.xyz, port 2101, and your username/password.
12. Confirm corrections are flowing: After your credentials verify you should see a 'Data received' message and the age-of-corrections indicator counting low (e.g. 1 - 2 s). An authorisation error means wrong credentials; connected-but-no-data means re-check the COMMON mount point.
13. Start the survey and confirm a Fixed solution: Tap Survey > Topo to open the measurement screen. The solution status progresses Autonomous → Float → Fixed. Wait for FIXED with good precision before storing points. If it stays Float, check sky visibility, age of corrections, and that the mount point is COMMON.

### If the fix will not hold

Icons, labels and page order vary slightly between MAGNET Field versions and between the FC-500 and FC-5000, but the sequence is the same. Key choices for the HiPer VR/HR on an FC-series controller: Protocol = NTRIP, Modem Connect = Controller. If no streams appear or you can't reach Fixed, re-check host/port/credentials, confirm the controller has live internet, and that the receiver is paired over Bluetooth.
