# Topcon HiPer HR

These steps connect a Topcon HiPer HR to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using MAGNET Field. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* MAGNET Field.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power on and pair the receiver: Switch on the HiPer HR and pair it to your controller over Bluetooth. Open MAGNET Field and open or create your job. You set up a correction profile once, then connect to it for every job afterwards.
2. Open the configuration list: From the main screen tap Configure, then the Survey icon - the configuration menu listing your GPS+ configurations. Tap Add for a new one (or highlight an existing Network RTK profile and tap Edit). The path is always Configure > Survey > Configurations.
3. Set the configuration type to Network RTK: On the first screen, name the configuration (e.g. 'Premium Positioning'), set Type to 'Network RTK' and Corrections to 'VRS'. Tap Next.
4. Set the rover receiver and protocol to NTRIP: On Rover Receiver, ensure the external/Bluetooth receiver is selected and Receiver Model matches your unit (select HiPer HR; if not listed in an older version, choose the closest HiPer). Set Protocol to 'NTRIP'. Set Antenna to your model and enter the correct Antenna Height and measurement method. Tap Next.
5. Set Modem Connect to the controller: On Modem Connect, set it to use the controller's internet rather than a modem inside the receiver. On most versions this is 'Controller'; on some it's 'Receiver' for the receiver's own modem - choose the controller option to use your handheld's data/Wi-Fi. Tap Next.
6. Enter the caster address and port: On Modem Internet Information, in the Address field enter the caster host:port together as rtkpremium.xyz:2101. Select 'Web' (host name) rather than 'IP', then tap Add new so it's saved and highlighted. Tap Next. (Host: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101, Protocol: NTRIP.)
7. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: On Login Information, enter the User ID and Password from your welcome email - your own personal credentials, exactly as supplied. Do not use anyone else's. Tap Next.
8. Confirm the survey and advanced settings: Step through Topo Survey, Stake, Advanced and Miscellaneous. Defaults are fine: Solution 'Fixed Only', Satellite System 'GPS+GLONASS' (enable more constellations if offered), RTK Position 'Extrapolation', Base Station Make 'Automatic Detection'. Tap the green tick / Finish to save and return to the list.
9. Select the configuration and open Connect: At the job's Survey Config screen, make sure your new Network RTK configuration is selected, then tap the green tick to open Connections. Confirm GPS is selected with your configuration, then tap Connect.
10. Choose the COMMON mount point: On the Network tab, after it reaches the caster the Mount PT list populates from the source table. Tap the dropdown and select COMMON. If empty, tap the refresh icon to re-request the source table, then select COMMON.
11. Connect to the caster: With COMMON selected, tap Connect. MAGNET Field opens the internet connection, requests the mount point, and verifies your username/password against the caster.
12. Confirm corrections and a Fixed solution: When accepted you'll see 'Data received...' on the Network tab. An authorisation error means wrong credentials; no mount points means re-check the host/port. Tap home, start a survey, and watch the status change from Float to Fixed. Only record/stake points once it reads Fixed.

### If the fix will not hold

Screen names, button labels and the Receiver Model list vary between MAGNET Field versions and HiPer models - follow the equivalent field (Type = Network RTK, Protocol = NTRIP, address = rtkpremium.xyz:2101, mount point = COMMON). Needs working internet on the controller. If it stays on Float, check internet, antenna height, and that COMMON is selected.
