# Stonex S700A / S800A / S980A

These steps connect a Stonex S700A / S800A / S980A to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Cube-a. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Cube-a.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power on and wait for satellites: Switch on your Stonex receiver outdoors with a clear view of the sky and wait for it to track satellites. On the controller (Android phone or data collector), make sure mobile data or Wi-Fi is on if you'll route corrections through the phone, then open Cube-a.
2. Connect Cube-a to the receiver over Bluetooth: Go to Device > Communication. Set Device Type to 'Stonex GNSS' and Communication Mode to 'Bluetooth', tap 'Search', pick your receiver from the list (Bluetooth name usually matches the serial), and tap 'Connect' (tap 'pair' if prompted). (On some firmware you can use Wi-Fi: Communication Mode 'WIFI', connect to the receiver's hotspot.)
3. Open Rover working mode: Go to Device > Working Mode > Rover to open the 'Rover mode settings' screen - where you set the correction (data link) source. Leave Cut-off angle at its default unless told otherwise.
4. Choose the data link: In the 'Data Link' section, open the 'Communication Mode' dropdown. To use your phone's internet, choose 'Phone Network'. To use a SIM in the receiver, choose 'Internal Network'. Both send the same caster request; pick whichever has internet. (Wording varies by version - look for the network/internet option, not Radio or L-band.)
5. Set the connection protocol to NTRIP: Tap into the chosen data link to open its settings (Phone Network → the 'Bluetooth Data Link' screen; Internal Network → 'Rover network settings'). Under 'Connect Mode', select 'NTRIP'.
6. Enter the caster address and port: In 'CORS Settings', set the IP/host to rtkpremium.xyz and the Port to 2101. To save it, tap the '...' icon next to CORS Settings and add a custom entry (e.g. 'Premium Positioning'); otherwise type host and port directly. Protocol stays NTRIP.
7. Enter your own NTRIP username and password: In 'CORS Account', type the User and Password from your welcome email - unique to your account, case-sensitive. Do not share or guess; if you don't have them, contact support.
8. Load the mount point list from the caster: With host, port and credentials entered, fetch the available mount points (source table) - a 'Get access point' / 'Get mountpoint' button or the dropdown/refresh next to the MountPoint field. Cube-a connects and downloads the list.
9. Select the COMMON mount point: In the MountPoint field, select COMMON (type it in capitals if not shown) - the correction stream Premium Positioning provides.
10. Make sure GGA position is being sent: NTRIP casters need your approximate position. Ensure GGA upload is enabled - 'Internal Network' has a 'GGA Upload Interval(s)' value (default 5s is fine) and an 'Automatically connect to network' toggle. If no corrections arrive, check this first.
11. Apply and start the connection: Confirm the data link screen with 'OK' (or 'Start' on the Bluetooth Data Link screen), then on 'Rover mode settings' tap 'Apply' to switch the receiver into rover mode. Optionally tap 'Save to Configurations' first to reload these settings next time.
12. Confirm a Fixed solution: Watch the status progress Single/Autonomous → Float → Fixed. Verify the link under Device > Data Link Status ('Connected to server', signal level, GGA upload interval). Once Fixed (commonly green), you have cm-level RTK. If it stays Single/Float, recheck credentials, that MountPoint is COMMON, that the phone/SIM has internet, and that GGA sending is on.

### If the fix will not hold

Corrections can run through the receiver's SIM ('Internal Network') or the phone's connection ('Phone Network') - choose whichever has internet. Menu/button names vary slightly between Cube-a versions and models (S700A/S800A/S980A) - match the equivalent option. Steps based on the Stonex Cube-a 4.0 field software manual.
