# Stonex S3A / S5 II

These steps connect a Stonex S3A / S5 II (GIS handheld) to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Cube-a. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Cube-a.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Before you start: Have your welcome email open - it contains YOUR personal NTRIP username and password. The caster Host, Port and Mountpoint are the same for everyone (below). Make sure the handheld has working internet (mobile data or Wi-Fi) and a clear view of the sky.
2. Power on and open Cube-a: Switch on the Stonex receiver/handheld and open the Cube-a app (on some GIS units branded Stonex GIS Mobile; the layout is the same).
3. Connect to the receiver: Open the Device (or Communicate) menu and choose Connect. Set manufacturer to Stonex, connection type to Bluetooth, tap Search, pick your receiver's serial number and Connect. On an integrated GIS handheld the GNSS may already be connected - if so, skip ahead.
4. Open Working Mode: Go to the Device or Config menu and open Working Mode (some versions Tool > Working Mode).
5. Select Rover: Set the working mode to Rover (the unit that receives corrections; not a base).
6. Set the Data Link to internet: Choose the internet path: Phone Internet / Controller Internet / PDA Network (handheld/phone supplies the connection), or Receiver Network (receiver SIM/modem). Wording varies by Cube-a version - choose whichever routes corrections over the internet rather than UHF radio.
7. Choose NTRIP: Set the protocol / connection mode to NTRIP (sometimes shown as CORS).
8. Enter the caster Host and Port: Host (IP/Server/Address): rtkpremium.xyz · Port: 2101 · Protocol: NTRIP. Type the host exactly, no http\:// and no spaces.
9. Enter YOUR username and password: Enter the NTRIP User name and Password from your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. If you don't have them, contact support first.
10. Get the mountpoint list: Tap the button that downloads the available mountpoints - labelled Get access point, Retrieve Mountpoint, or similar by version. It needs internet and valid credentials to populate.
11. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the access-point dropdown select COMMON. If it doesn't appear, double-check Host, Port and your credentials, then retrieve again.
12. Apply / Connect: Confirm with OK / Set, then Apply to start. Cube-a connects to the caster and receives corrections. If prompted to Send GGA / send NMEA, leave it enabled - the caster needs your approximate position.
13. Confirm a Fixed solution: On the survey screen watch Single/Autonomous → DGPS → Float → Fixed. Wait for FIXED (often green) before measuring - that's cm-level RTK. If it stays Float/Single, check internet, sky view, and that COMMON and your credentials are correct.

### If the fix will not hold

Menu names differ across Cube-a versions and languages (Device vs Tool menu; Phone Internet vs Controller Internet vs PDA Network; 'Get access point' vs 'Retrieve Mountpoint'), so match the closest label. If corrections drop or the correction age climbs above \~5 s, your internet link is unstable - move to better coverage.

### Need help

Support is available 24/7. Include your receiver model, the mountpoint, the solution status, and the correction age when you get in touch.
