# Spectra SP60 / SP30

These steps connect a Spectra SP60 / SP30 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Survey Pro / FAST Survey / Origin. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Survey Pro / FAST Survey / Origin.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. What you'll need: Your charged SP60 (or SP30), your controller running Survey Pro, FAST Survey, or Spectra Origin, and your personal NTRIP username/password from your welcome email. The SP60/SP30 normally has NO internal cellular modem, so the internet comes from the controller (its SIM or Wi-Fi) or a tethered phone - not the receiver. Have a working data connection on the controller before you start.
2. Power on and pair the receiver: Switch on the SP60/SP30 and the controller. In your field software, open the device/instrument connection screen and connect over Bluetooth (or serial). In Survey Pro this is the receiver/GNSS connection setup; in FAST Survey under Equip > GPS Rover (choose Spectra/Ashtech as manufacturer, SP60 as model); in Origin via Connections / receiver setup. Confirm the receiver shows connected.
3. Confirm internet on the controller: Because the SP60/SP30 has no built-in modem, make sure the CONTROLLER is online - its own SIM/cellular, a Wi-Fi network, or tethered to your phone's hotspot. The receiver pulls NTRIP corrections through this connection. (Label varies by app.)
4. Open the rover / network RTK configuration: In Origin: menu > Settings / Survey styles > select your RTK style > Edit > Rover data link. In Survey Pro: open the GNSS/receiver setup and configure a Network rover. In FAST Survey: under Equip > GPS Rover, open the RTK / Comms tab. Navigate to the equivalent 'rover data link / network RTK' settings in your app.
5. Set the data link to Internet / Network: Choose the internet/network option rather than a UHF radio or receiver-modem option. In Origin set Type to Internet connection. In Survey Pro choose Data Collector Internet / network connection. In FAST Survey set the Device to NTRIP (or 'Data Collector Internet').
6. Select NTRIP as the protocol: Enable NTRIP. In Origin's GNSS correction source, set Use RTX (internet) to No and Use NTRIP to Yes (leave 'Use NTRIP v1.0' off unless needed). In FAST Survey / Survey Pro choose NTRIP as the correction/protocol type.
7. Enter the caster address and port: In the server/IP Address field enter rtkpremium.xyz and in the Port / IP port field enter 2101. (In Origin these are the 'IP Address' and 'IP port' fields.) The same for every customer.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: In the NTRIP username and password fields, type the credentials from YOUR welcome email - unique to you; do not use anyone else's.
9. Load the source table and select the mountpoint: Fetch the source table - usually a button (arrow/refresh/'Get source table') beside the mountpoint field that connects and downloads the list. From the list select: COMMON. (In Origin you can set 'Connect directly to Mountpoint' to Yes and type COMMON to skip the prompt.)
10. Send NMEA/GGA if prompted: If your software shows an option to send your position to the caster ('Send NMEA GGA to base' or 'Send user identity info'), it's normally fine to leave it enabled - network/VRS streams use it to give you the nearest correction. (Optional; label varies by app.)
11. Save the configuration: Store/save the rover style or connection profile (in Origin tap Store) so you can reconnect later without re-entering the caster details.
12. Start the survey / connect to corrections: Start the RTK survey or measure/connect action. The controller connects to rtkpremium.xyz:2101, authenticates, requests COMMON, and streams corrections to the SP60/SP30. The data link goes active and correction age starts counting (a low, single-digit number of seconds is healthy).
13. Confirm a Fixed solution: Watch the solution status move Autonomous/Single → Float → Fixed ('RTK Fixed' or a green Fixed status) within seconds to a couple of minutes once corrections flow. Only measure once it reports FIXED. If it stays Float, re-check the controller's internet, the mountpoint (COMMON), your credentials, and that you have open sky.

### If the fix will not hold

The SP60/SP30 generally has no internal cellular modem - the internet for NTRIP comes from the controller (SIM/Wi-Fi) or a tethered phone; ensure the controller is online first. Field/menu names differ between Survey Pro, FAST Survey and Spectra Origin (and versions): the IP Address/IP port/Use NTRIP/Mountpoint names quoted are from Origin; in Survey Pro and FAST Survey navigate to the equivalent 'Network rover / NTRIP' settings (FAST Survey: Equip > GPS Rover).
