# Spectra MobileMapper 60 / Ashtech ProMark

These steps connect a Spectra MobileMapper 60 / Ashtech ProMark to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using MobileMapper Field / FAST Survey (GIS). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* MobileMapper Field / FAST Survey (GIS).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Know what your unit can achieve: Identify whether you have a standalone GIS handheld (e.g. MobileMapper 60, internal antenna) or a survey-grade receiver (e.g. Ashtech ProMark / SP-series) paired to the handheld. A standalone GIS handheld with its internal antenna is a sub-metre/DGPS device - with corrections it improves accuracy but typically reaches sub-metre / decimetre, NOT centimetre 'Fixed' RTK. Centimetre RTK requires a survey-grade dual-frequency receiver. The NTRIP login is the same either way; only the achievable accuracy differs.
2. Get online and have your credentials ready: Connect the device to the internet (SIM data or Wi-Fi) - NTRIP streams over the internet. Have the NTRIP username and password from your welcome email to hand. These are unique to your account; enter your own and never share them.
3. Open your field software: On a MobileMapper handheld this is usually MobileMapper Field. On an Ashtech/ProMark or SP receiver used for survey work it is typically FAST Survey (or Survey Pro). Menu wording differs between apps and versions, so match the intent below to the labels you see.
4. Open the GNSS / correction settings: In MobileMapper Field, open the menu and go to Settings / GNSS or the 'Real-time' (corrections) section. In FAST Survey, go to Equip > GPS Rover. This is where you define how the receiver gets its real-time corrections.
5. Choose the receiver, then add a correction source: If prompted, select your receiver model first (internal GNSS for a GIS handheld, or your external receiver via Bluetooth for a survey unit). Then start creating a new real-time correction source / data link for the rover.
6. Set the correction link to Internet / NTRIP: For the correction data link, choose the option for receiving over the internet - 'Internet', 'NTRIP', or 'NTRIP Client' depending on the app. (Do not choose UHF radio or direct-IP.) In FAST Survey this is on the RTK / Data Collector internet/NTRIP setting under GPS Rover.
7. Enter the caster address and port: In the NTRIP server fields, enter Host / Server rtkpremium.xyz and Port 2101. Leave any 'use NTRIP' / 'NTRIP v1' option enabled if asked.
8. Enter your NTRIP username and password: In the Username and Password fields, type the credentials from your welcome email (case-sensitive). Use your own credentials only.
9. Connect and load the source table: Tap Connect / Get source table / GetTable (label varies). The device contacts the caster and downloads the source table (the mountpoint list). If nothing loads, recheck host, port, internet, and credentials.
10. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the source table, select COMMON - the correction stream for all Premium Positioning customers. Confirm/OK the selection.
11. Start the survey / connect the rover: Save the configuration and start the survey (MobileMapper Field) or connect the GPS Rover (FAST Survey). The app opens the NTRIP connection and streams corrections from rtkpremium.xyz to your receiver.
12. Confirm a corrected solution: Watch the position-status indicator. A survey-grade receiver progresses Autonomous → Float → FIXED (cm RTK) - wait for FIXED before recording survey points. A standalone GIS handheld instead shows a 'corrected' / 'differential' (DGPS) status with sub-metre/decimetre accuracy and will not report a true RTK 'Fixed'. Check the reported accuracy matches what your hardware can deliver before collecting.

### If the fix will not hold

Critical hardware note: the MobileMapper 60 (and similar GIS handhelds) is a sub-metre receiver - it does not produce centimetre RTK 'Fixed' on its own. Centimetre RTK requires a survey-grade Ashtech/SP receiver (e.g. ProMark/SP-series) connected to the handheld via Bluetooth and configured through FAST Survey or Survey Pro. Menu/button names vary by app and version; labels above are typical, not exact for every build.
