# South Galaxy G1 / G6 / G7

These steps connect a South Galaxy G1 / G6 / G7 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using SurvX (or Survey Master / SurvStar). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* SurvX (or Survey Master / SurvStar).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power on and get an internet path: Turn on the South Galaxy receiver and your controller running SurvX. NTRIP corrections come over the internet, so you need a connection: either the controller's mobile data / Wi-Fi (simplest, most common) or a SIM in the receiver. Confirm the controller can reach the internet before continuing.
2. Open SurvX and create/open a job: Launch SurvX (some regions ship Survey Master or SurvStar - same workflow). The main menu shows \[Project], \[Device], \[Survey], \[Tools]. Open \[Project] and create/open a job, setting the correct coordinate system first - corrections are WGS84 and the job's datum determines your displayed coordinates.
3. Connect the controller to the receiver: Go to \[Device] → Communication. Set Manufacturer to South and the model to your Galaxy unit, set connection to Bluetooth, tap Search, select your receiver's serial number and Connect. If pairing is requested, pair in the controller's Android Bluetooth settings first.
4. Set the receiver to Rover mode: In \[Device] open Rover ('Set as Rover'). This configures the Galaxy to consume corrections rather than act as a base. Keep the default RTK message format - the COMMON stream is standard RTCM 3.x, which the Galaxy auto-detects.
5. Choose the Network data link: On the Rover settings, set Datalink to a network/internet option: 'PDA Network' / 'Phone Internet' if the controller has the SIM/Wi-Fi, or 'Receiver Network' if the SIM is in the Galaxy. Choose the network entry, not Radio. Wording varies across SurvX/Survey Master/SurvStar.
6. Set the protocol to NTRIP (CORS): Set the connection Protocol/mode to NTRIP. In South software this network-correction profile is often labelled CORS, with NTRIP as the underlying protocol. Choose NTRIP/CORS rather than TCP/APIS.
7. Enter the caster address and port: In the IP / Server (Address) field enter rtkpremium.xyz and in Port enter 2101. Enter the hostname where text is allowed; protocol stays NTRIP.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: In User Name and Password type the personal NTRIP credentials from your Premium Positioning welcome email - unique to your account. SurvX can save them to a profile for next time.
9. Retrieve the mountpoint (source table): Tap the refresh/source-table control - a circular refresh icon next to the mountpoint field, or a button labelled 'Get Access Point' / 'Get source list' / 'Get Mount Point'. SurvX connects to rtkpremium.xyz:2101 and lists the mountpoints. If empty, re-check server, port, credentials and that the controller is online.
10. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the mountpoint list select COMMON - Premium Positioning's correction stream. Confirm so it's written into the data-link profile.
11. Apply and start the rover link: Tap OK / Apply / Connect to start the NTRIP link. SurvX logs in, requests COMMON, and feeds RTCM corrections to the Galaxy. A small data/connection indicator becomes active.
12. Confirm a Fixed solution: Open \[Survey] or watch the status bar. The solution progresses Single → Float → Fixed, normally within 10 - 30 seconds once corrections flow. Wait for Fixed with a low HRMS/VRMS (typically 1 - 2 cm) before storing points. If it stays Single/Float, check internet, the COMMON selection, and your credentials.

### If the fix will not hold

Labels differ slightly across SurvX, Survey Master and SurvStar and across versions - the network data-link entry may read 'PDA Network'/'Phone Internet' (controller SIM/Wi-Fi) or 'Receiver Network' (receiver SIM), and the mountpoint-fetch control may be a refresh icon or a 'Get Access Point' button. A Fixed solution needs clear sky and a stable internet connection; under canopy or in urban canyons, fixing may take longer or be intermittent.
