# Sokkia GRX3 / GRX2

These steps connect a Sokkia GRX3 / GRX2 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using MAGNET Field (SHC-series controller). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* MAGNET Field (SHC-series controller).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power up and pair the receiver: Switch on the GRX3/GRX2 and the SHC controller, open MAGNET Field, and open or create a job. Tap the Connect (receiver/antenna) icon, choose Bluetooth (or Cable), select your receiver from the device list, and confirm it shows connected.
2. Open the configuration list: Tap Configure > Survey > Configurations to open the list of survey configurations. Tap Add for a new one, or select a Network RTK configuration and tap Edit. (The Configure sub-menu wording varies a little by version - look for the RTK/survey-style section.)
3. Name it and set Type to Network RTK: Give it a clear name (e.g. 'Premium Positioning NTRIP') and set Type/Style to Network RTK - not single-base or radio. Leave Simulation Mode unchecked.
4. Select receiver model and corrections format: Set Receiver Model to your unit (GRX3 or GRX2). Use RTCM 3.x as the correction format. If asked for a network sub-type, leave the default for a standard single-mountpoint caster.
5. Set the connection Protocol to NTRIP: On the network/RTK page set Protocol (sometimes 'Network type' or 'Data type') to NTRIP so MAGNET requests a source table and connects to a named mountpoint.
6. Choose how the controller reaches the internet: Set Modem Connect = Controller to use the SHC controller's own cellular/Wi-Fi (most common - confirm it has data first), or Receiver if the SIM is inside the GRX3. On some versions this is 'Controller with Internal Cellular' vs 'Receiver with Internal Cellular'.
7. Set the antenna and rover height: On the Antenna page select the correct GRX3/GRX2 antenna, enter the antenna/pole height and the measurement type (vertical to ARP, or slant). An incorrect height is the most common cause of a vertical offset.
8. Enter the caster address and port: In the internet/NTRIP server settings enter Server / Host: rtkpremium.xyz (choose the Web option if there's an IP-vs-host toggle) and Port: 2101. Protocol stays NTRIP.
9. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Enter the personal NTRIP credentials from your Premium Positioning welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's.
10. Retrieve the source table (mountpoint list): Tap the control that fetches mountpoints - the drop-down arrow beside the mountpoint field, a Get/Update button, or it loads automatically once address, port and credentials are entered.
11. Select the COMMON mountpoint: Select COMMON from the list. If you see 'no mount point to connect to automatically', tap the drop-down and choose COMMON. Save/accept the configuration.
12. Start the survey and connect: Back at the Configurations list, ensure your Network RTK configuration is the active one, then start a survey (Survey > Topo). MAGNET dials out, verifies your credentials, and you'll see a 'Data received' message.
13. Confirm a Fixed solution: Watch the solution status progress Autonomous → Float → Fixed. Only store points once it reads Fixed and HRMS/VRMS are within tolerance. If it stays Float, check sky view, mobile signal, and that COMMON and your credentials are correct.

### If the fix will not hold

Sokkia receivers use the same MAGNET Field software as Topcon, so any Topcon MAGNET Field NTRIP guide also applies. Menu/button wording (the Configure sub-menu, the internet/Rover Radio screen, the 'Get mountpoints' control) varies slightly between MAGNET versions and controllers (e.g. SHC5000) - match the equivalent option. A Fixed solution needs clear sky and a working data/Wi-Fi connection on the controller (or a SIM in the receiver).
