# Septentrio AsteRx-m3 / AsteRx SBi3

These steps connect a Septentrio AsteRx-m3 / AsteRx SBi3 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Built-in NTRIP client (web interface / RxTools). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Built-in NTRIP client (web interface / RxTools).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power and connect the receiver: Power the AsteRx-m3 / AsteRx SBi3 and connect it to your PC, typically over USB (the receiver presents a network port). Attach a GNSS antenna with a clear sky view so the receiver can compute a position.
2. Open the receiver web interface (RxWeb): In a browser go to the receiver's web interface - over USB usually <http://192.168.3.1>; over Ethernet use the receiver's assigned IP. The dashboard shows satellite tracking and current position. (You can instead use the RxTools / RxControl desktop tools - see the note below.)
3. Confirm the receiver is in Rover / RTK mode: Before adding corrections, check the position settings page (Position or GNSS section) and ensure the positioning mode is Rover with RTK enabled, so the receiver uses the incoming stream for an RTK solution. Wording varies by firmware.
4. Open the NTRIP settings: Go to the corrections area and open NTRIP. Depending on firmware this sits under a top menu labelled 'Corrections' or 'Communication' - both lead to the NTRIP page. Look for the NTRIP heading if the label differs.
5. Create a new NTRIP client: Click 'New NTRIP client' (sometimes 'New') and set Mode to 'Client'. Mode = Client tells the receiver to connect out to our caster (rather than act as one), and it auto-reconnects on power-up once saved.
6. Enter the caster host and port: Enter Host: rtkpremium.xyz and Port: 2101. Leave the protocol as standard NTRIP.
7. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Enter the NTRIP username and password from your welcome email - unique to your account, exactly as supplied; do not share them.
8. Retrieve the mountpoint list and select COMMON: Once host and port are correct, the receiver can download the caster's source table - a table of mount points appears. Select COMMON. If the list doesn't populate, re-check host, port, and credentials, then retry.
9. Enable Send GGA: Enable the option to send GGA (often 'Send GGA' or 'NMEA GGA') and set it to automatic/periodic, so the receiver sends its approximate position and the caster supplies corrections referenced to your location. Without GGA the link can appear connected but give no RTK improvement.
10. Apply the NTRIP client settings: Click OK / Apply. The NTRIP client status should change to connected/active and correction data should start flowing in.
11. Confirm RTK fixed on the position page: Open the position / PVT page and watch the solution type progress Standalone → DGNSS → RTK Float → RTK Fixed. You're connected once the mode reads RTK fixed and horizontal accuracy drops to \~1 - 2 cm. Convergence under good sky view typically takes seconds to a couple of minutes.
12. Save the configuration: Save settings as the boot/start-up configuration so the NTRIP client reconnects automatically on power-up. In RxWeb this is usually under Admin or Configuration with a 'Save' / save-to-boot option. Wording varies by firmware.

### If the fix will not hold

Alternate path: instead of the built-in web client you can feed corrections via Septentrio's RxTools - use DataLink (or RxControl) to create an NTRIP Client connection to rtkpremium.xyz:2101 with mount point COMMON and your credentials, then link it to the receiver's serial/USB connection. Menu/field names ('Corrections' vs 'Communication', the GGA option, the save-configuration command) differ slightly between firmware versions - look for the equivalent controls.
