Mapit GIS (Android)
These steps connect a Mapit GIS (Android) to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Mapit GIS app. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.
Before you start
Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
Mapit GIS app.
A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.
Network settings
These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.
Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
Port: 2101
Mountpoint: COMMON
Protocol: NTRIP
Steps
Check your subscription: The built-in NTRIP client and external RTK corrections require a paid Mapit GIS tier (currently Mapit Pro Plus). The free tier and basic Pro can't connect to a caster. Check Settings or your account and upgrade if NTRIP options are greyed out or hidden.
Pair your receiver in Android: Power on your external Bluetooth GNSS receiver and pair it first in Android Settings > Bluetooth (outside Mapit). If prompted for a PIN, use the one in your receiver's manual (commonly 0000 or 1234). The receiver must output NMEA and accept RTCM3.
Connect the receiver in Mapit: In Mapit GIS open the menu > Settings > External GNSS (the external/Bluetooth receiver section). Enable the external/direct connection and pick your paired receiver. Look for 'External GNSS' and a connect / 'Direct connection' toggle (wording varies by version).
Confirm raw GNSS is live: Open the GPS Info sheet (location/accuracy panel). You should see a position and a fix status like 'GPS (SPS)' with metre-level accuracy - confirming the Bluetooth link works before adding NTRIP.
Open NTRIP Corrections: Settings > NTRIP Corrections (NTRIP Client). Tap 'Add Configuration' (or '+' / 'Add') to create a new caster profile. Label varies by version.
Name the profile: Give it a recognisable name, e.g. 'Premium Positioning' - just a label for your reference.
Enter the Premium Positioning caster: Host (Caster/Server address) = rtkpremium.xyz, Port = 2101, Protocol = NTRIP. If a version field shows, V1 or V2 both work; leave the default if unsure.
Enter YOUR NTRIP credentials: In Username and Password enter the personal credentials from your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. There is no generic login.
Select the COMMON mountpoint: Tap the Mountpoint field. Mapit fetches the source table and lists mountpoints (often by distance, with a search box). Select COMMON, or type it directly.
Keep Send GGA enabled: Leave 'Send GGA' on (the default) - the caster needs your approximate position via GGA. A ~10 s interval is fine.
Point corrections at your receiver and connect: If asked where to send corrections, choose your Bluetooth receiver so the RTCM3 is forwarded to it. Tap Connect (or Start Service / play). If it fails, re-check the username/password, Host rtkpremium.xyz, Port 2101, and that COMMON is selected.
Confirm an RTK Fixed solution: Open the GPS Info sheet and watch GPS (SPS) → DGPS → RTK Float → RTK Fixed (green NTRIP indicator). Wait for 'RTK Fixed' (~1 - 3 cm, low correction age) before collecting. Initial fix typically 15 - 60 s under open sky.
If the fix will not hold
The built-in NTRIP client requires a paid Mapit tier (currently Mapit Pro Plus). Mapit GIS is brand-agnostic and works with many Bluetooth GNSS receivers (must output NMEA and accept RTCM3). Menu/button labels ('External GNSS', 'NTRIP Corrections', 'Add Configuration', 'Send GGA') vary slightly between versions and Android/iOS - match the closest equivalent. Keep 'Send GGA' enabled. Work under open sky for a reliable fix.
