# Leica GS16 / GS07

These steps connect a Leica GS16 / GS07 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Leica Captivate (CS20). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Leica Captivate (CS20).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power up and pair the receiver: Switch on the GS16/GS07 and the CS20. The CS20 normally pairs to the receiver over Bluetooth automatically. If not, on the Captivate Home screen open Settings > Connections > GS Sensor (wording varies by version) and confirm the controller is connected before continuing.
2. Set up the internet connection: The rover needs internet. On the Home screen go to Settings > Connections > Internet connection. Tap New, then choose how you get online - Bluetooth to your phone's hotspot, or a CS20 SIM/cellular modem. Follow the prompts (enter your carrier's APN if asked). Confirm the connection shows connected.
3. Open the RTK rover wizard / RTK rover profile: Under Settings > Connections, open the RTK rover entry ('RTK rover wizard' or an 'RTK rover' profile screen by version). Tap New (or Edit) to create a correction profile and name it, e.g. 'Premium Positioning'.
4. Choose Internet as the real-time device: When asked how corrections are received, set the real-time device/connection to your Internet connection (not a radio), so Captivate streams over the internet.
5. Set the network type to NTRIP: On the network/server settings, set Network type (sometimes 'RTK network' or 'Server type') to NTRIP, so the receiver logs in to the caster and pulls a mountpoint rather than a Direct IP feed.
6. Enter the caster server and port: Create/edit the server entry: Server / Host: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101. The field may be 'Server', 'Host' or 'Address' by version. Save the server.
7. Enter your NTRIP username and password: On the NTRIP tab (or the credential fields on the server screen), enter the NTRIP User ID and Password from your welcome email - unique to your account; entered into the device only.
8. Select the COMMON mountpoint: Pick it from the source table: tap the Source-table / SRCE button (or 'Get source table' / the mountpoint dropdown) so Captivate lists available mountpoints, then select COMMON. If the source table is slow or empty, type COMMON manually (capitals).
9. Confirm the data format: If prompted for a correction format, leave it on the standard RTCM 3.x that matches COMMON. Captivate usually detects this automatically from the mountpoint.
10. Enable Send GGA position: Ensure 'Send GGA position' is On / Automatic - the caster uses your GGA to send the right corrections; with it off you may never reach Fixed. Usually automatic for a single fixed mountpoint, but confirm.
11. Finish the wizard and connect: Step through the remaining pages with Next (F6) and Finish/Store. Captivate dials the internet connection and logs in to the caster. Watch for 'Connected to NTRIP caster' and check the status-bar connection icon is active (no orange warning).
12. Start the survey and check correction flow: Start a survey using the new profile. Confirm corrections arrive - the real-time icon should be active and position quality should drop from autonomous/Float toward cm-level.
13. Confirm RTK Fixed: Wait for Fixed (phase-fixed) with a coordinate quality (CQ) at cm level - typically within a minute or two. Then you're ready to measure and stake. If it stays Float, recheck COMMON, that Send GGA is On, your credentials, and a stable internet/open-sky view.

### If the fix will not hold

Menu/button names vary between Captivate versions (RTK rover wizard vs RTK rover profile, Server vs Host). The same workflow applies to GS16 and GS07 on a CS20. Tip: if the source table is slow or empty, the internet connection usually isn't up yet - fix that first, or type COMMON manually.
