# Juniper Geode GNS3 / GNS2

These steps connect a Juniper Geode GNS3 / GNS2 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Geode Connect (+ a GIS app). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Geode Connect (+ a GIS app).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Check RTK is supported: NTRIP/RTK requires a Geode model and subscription that supports RTK (e.g. the GNS3 RTK model). A sub-metre-only Geode will connect to NTRIP but may not reach cm RTK Fixed. Check the label on the receiver's base or ask Premium Positioning if unsure.
2. Install Geode Connect: Install the free Geode Connect app (Google Play / App Store). It holds the NTRIP settings and must stay open while collecting - if it closes, corrections stop. You also need live cellular data throughout.
3. Power on and pair over Bluetooth: Turn the Geode on and enable Bluetooth. In Geode Connect tap the Geode/Bluetooth icon (top-right, shown with a slash when disconnected), pick your receiver by the serial number on its base, and complete pairing. The slash disappears once connected.
4. Open Receiver Configuration: Open the menu and go to Receiver Configuration (via the More (…) button or Settings, depending on version).
5. Open the NTRIP / RTK settings: In Receiver Configuration scroll down and open the NTRIP configuration screen ('NTRIP Configuration' or 'Configure NTRIP/RTK' by version).
6. Enter the caster and port: Caster/Server/IP Address: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101. Protocol is standard NTRIP (no TLS/SSL needed).
7. Enter YOUR NTRIP credentials: Enter the NTRIP Username and Password from your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. If lost, contact Premium Positioning for a reissue.
8. Enable Send GGA to Caster: Tick 'Send GGA to Caster' so the Geode's rough position reaches the caster and it serves corrections for your area. Save the settings if there is a Save button.
9. Select the COMMON mount point: Tap 'Download Mount Points', then choose COMMON from the dropdown. If the list is empty, confirm host/port/credentials and your data connection, then download again. (Some versions let you type COMMON.)
10. Start NTRIP: Tap 'Start NTRIP' ('Start NTRIP/RTK' in some versions). Connecting can take up to about a minute.
11. Confirm RTK Fixed: On the home screen the NTRIP icon turns green with a closed plug when corrections flow (orange open plug = still connecting - recheck credentials, mount point, signal). Give the Geode open sky and let it converge Float → Fixed before relying on the position.
12. Feed the position to your GIS app (Android mock location): Android: Geode Connect > Menu > Preferences > tick 'Enable Mock Location Provider' > Save; enable Developer options; Settings > Developer options > 'Select mock location app' > Geode Connect. iOS: GIS apps like Esri Field Maps read the Geode location directly once Geode Connect is connected - no mock-location step.

### If the fix will not hold

NTRIP/RTK needs continuous cellular data and a Geode model/subscription that supports RTK (e.g. GNS3 RTK). Settings live in the Geode Connect app, which must stay open while collecting. Menu/field labels differ between Geode Connect versions and between Android and iOS - match the nearest equivalent.
