# iGage iG8 / iG9

These steps connect an iGage iG8 / iG9 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Carlson SurvCE / SurvPC. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Carlson SurvCE / SurvPC.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Get an internet connection ready: NTRIP corrections come over the internet, so the data collector running SurvCE/SurvPC needs to be online - its own SIM, or a Wi-Fi hotspot from your phone. (The iG8/iG9 can also use its own internal SIM, but data-collector internet is simplest.) Confirm signal at the job site.
2. Open Equip > GPS Rover: Launch SurvCE/SurvPC. From the main menu tap Equip > GPS Rover. The dialog has four tabs: Current, Comms, Receiver, RTK - fill them left-to-right.
3. Set Manufacturer and Model (Current tab): Set Manufacturer and Model to match your receiver. iGage hardware is rebranded CHCNAV, so depending on SurvCE/SurvPC version the iG8/iG9 is under an iGage profile or the CHC/CHCNAV manufacturer - pick whichever your version lists. Tap Save to store it.
4. Connect to the receiver (Comms tab): On Comms set Type to Bluetooth, find and pair your receiver, and connect. Wait until it reports connected.
5. Check antenna and rover settings (Receiver tab): Set Antenna type and Antenna Height to match the pole mounting (and the measurement method). Accurate height is essential for correct elevations. Set the elevation mask if prompted.
6. Set Device and Network on the RTK tab: On RTK set Device to Data Collector Internet (use Internal GSM only if the SIM is in the receiver), then set Network to NTRIP.
7. Open the NTRIP Broadcasters dialog: Tap the wrenches/gears icon next to Network to open the NTRIP Broadcasters window.
8. Add Premium Positioning's caster (New): Tap New, name it 'Premium Positioning', and enter IP addr (Host) = rtkpremium.xyz, Port = 2101 - the same for every customer.
9. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Type the User name and Password (Pwd) from your welcome email - unique to you; do not use anyone else's. If you don't have them, contact Premium Positioning first.
10. Download the base list (green check): Tap the green check to save the broadcaster and connect. SurvCE/SurvPC reaches rtkpremium.xyz and downloads the list of bases (mountpoints).
11. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the list choose COMMON, then tap the green check. (With NTRIP the correction format is handled automatically - the iG8/iG9 auto-detects RTCM.)
12. Confirm and verify FIXED: Tap the green check again to close GPS Rover and start streaming. Go to Survey > Store Points and watch the quality indicator climb Autonomous/Single → FLOAT → FIXED. Record points only once FIXED, and shoot a known check point to confirm.

### If the fix will not hold

iGage receivers are rebranded CHCNAV, so in some SurvCE/SurvPC versions the iG8/iG9 is selected under the CHC/CHCNAV manufacturer; pick the closest iGage or CHC iG8/iG9 profile. Tab labels, the Device dropdown wording, and the NTRIP Broadcasters icon (wrenches/gears) differ slightly between versions; the order and meaning are the same. If you never reach FIXED, recheck credentials, that the collector still has internet, and that COMMON is selected.
