# Hemisphere S321+ / Vega

These steps connect a Hemisphere S321+ / Vega to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Carlson SurvCE / SurvPC (or PocketMax). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Carlson SurvCE / SurvPC (or PocketMax).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Get your NTRIP login ready: You'll need the NTRIP username and password from your welcome email - unique to your account; enter your own and never share them.
2. Get the receiver online: The S321+/Vega needs an internet path. Simplest: let the data collector provide internet - tether to a phone hotspot or use its built-in cellular/Wi-Fi. (If your unit has an internal SIM, you can use that - the device-selection step tells you which option to pick.)
3. Connect the controller to the receiver: Power on both. In Carlson SurvCE/SurvPC go to Equip > GPS Rover, set Manufacturer to Hemisphere and Model to your receiver (S321/S321+ or Vega). On the Comms tab choose Bluetooth (or cable) and connect. Comms wording varies slightly by version.
4. Open the RTK tab: Still in Equip > GPS Rover, tap the RTK tab - where you set how the rover receives correction data.
5. Set the Device to internet: In Device select Data Collector Internet (routes corrections through the controller's connection). If using the receiver's internal cellular module, choose that GSM/modem option and enter your APN. The label can differ by version - choose 'use the data collector's internet'.
6. Set the Network to NTRIP: In Network select NTRIP, then tap the gear/settings button next to Network to open the NTRIP broadcaster configuration.
7. Add the Premium Positioning caster: Add a new NTRIP broadcaster (Add/New). Enter Name = Premium Positioning (any label), IP / Address = rtkpremium.xyz, Port = 2101. Leave the username/password for the next step.
8. Enter your own NTRIP credentials: In User Name and Password type the NTRIP credentials from YOUR welcome email - your personal credentials; do not use anyone else's. Watch for typos and stray spaces.
9. Confirm and download the base list: Tap the green check / OK to save. SurvCE/SurvPC connects to the caster and downloads the available base stations (mountpoints). If nothing downloads, recheck the address, port, credentials, and that the controller has internet.
10. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the downloaded list select COMMON, then confirm with the green check. You return to the RTK tab with COMMON as the active base.
11. Apply and start the survey: Confirm the RTK tab (green check) to apply. Begin your survey/connection and watch the status climb Autonomous → Float → FIXED. Once FIXED, the rover is receiving corrections and you can measure or stake.
12. PocketMax alternative (if not using Carlson): If you set up corrections in Hemisphere PocketMax instead: Config > GNSS Rover > Corrections > NTRIP Client. Choose Controller Internet (or the receiver modem if SIM-equipped). Enter the same caster details - Address rtkpremium.xyz, Port 2101, Mountpoint COMMON - plus YOUR own credentials. Enable Send GGA, then Apply and wait for FIXED. PocketMax labels can vary by version - match by meaning.
13. Troubleshooting: No mountpoints / can't connect: verify internet and re-check the caster address (rtkpremium.xyz), port (2101), and your credentials. Stuck on Float: ensure COMMON is selected, clear sky view, and (in PocketMax) Send GGA is on. Auth errors usually mean a mistyped username/password.

Menu/button labels differ between Carlson SurvCE/SurvPC versions and Hemisphere PocketMax - described generically where wording isn't certain; match by meaning.
