# FieldGenius for Windows

These steps connect a FieldGenius for Windows to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using FieldGenius for Windows. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* FieldGenius for Windows.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Pair your GNSS receiver first: Power on your GNSS receiver and the data collector running FieldGenius for Windows. Pair the receiver over Bluetooth (or serial/USB) in Windows before opening FieldGenius. FieldGenius works with many brands (Leica, Trimble, Topcon, Emlid, CHCNAV, Stonex, South, Hi-Target and others) - the NTRIP steps are the same regardless.
2. Open a project, then go to Instrument Selection: Launch FieldGenius and open/create your project. Open Instrument Selection (typically Main Menu > Settings > Instrument Selection, or the Settings/instrument button on the GNSS toolbar). The exact path varies slightly by version.
3. Choose GNSS Rover and pick a profile: Set the instrument type to 'GNSS Rover'. Select an existing profile or tap 'Add' to create one and name it (e.g. 'Premium Positioning NTRIP'), then 'Edit' to open the rover configuration.
4. Open Link Configure: In the rover configuration, open 'Link Configure' (sometimes via 'Instrument Settings' or 'Model and Communication', by version) - where you tell FieldGenius how corrections reach the receiver.
5. Set the correction link to internet (NTRIP): For the Link Device / Device Type, choose the option that streams corrections over the data collector's internet - commonly 'Data Collector Internet' (some versions phrase it as RTK corrections via internet / NTRIP). Then tap 'Setup' ('Press to Set up' / 'Press to Modify'). Labels vary - pick the internet/NTRIP option.
6. Open the NTRIP caster list and Add a new caster: In the NTRIP setup dialog, open the NTRIP Casters list and tap 'Add'. Give it a description such as 'Premium Positioning'.
7. Enter the caster address and port: Set the server Address / Host to rtkpremium.xyz and the Port to 2101. Leave the protocol as NTRIP. The same for every customer.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Enter the NTRIP Username and Password from your welcome email - unique to your account; sent from the device directly to the caster. Save the caster entry (tap 'OK').
9. Select the caster and connect: Select the 'Premium Positioning' caster and tap 'OK' to load it into Link Configure. Confirm rtkpremium.xyz, 2101 and your username are populated, then tap 'Connect'.
10. Request the source table and choose COMMON: When prompted to 'Request Source Table' (or fetch the mountpoint list), choose Yes. From the returned list select COMMON and tap 'Select'. If the list doesn't appear, re-check internet, address/port, and your credentials.
11. Finish the link setup and start the rover: Confirm/OK out of Link Configure and the rover configuration to save the profile, then tap 'Connect' on Instrument Selection to start the rover with the NTRIP link active. FieldGenius reports it is receiving corrections.
12. Confirm RTK Fixed before you survey: Check the GNSS status indicator (status bar / GNSS toolbar). Wait until it reads 'RTK Fixed' (not Float or Autonomous), with a healthy satellite count and low estimated precision. Only collect points once you have a stable RTK Fixed solution.

### If the fix will not hold

FieldGenius for Windows is brand-agnostic; the NTRIP workflow is the same across receivers. Button/screen labels ('Data Collector Internet', 'Press to Set up', 'Request Source Table', etc.) differ between FieldGenius versions and Windows / Windows Mobile builds - choose the equivalent internet/NTRIP option. The data collector needs working internet (Wi-Fi, or a SIM/hotspot).
