# FieldGenius for Android

These steps connect a FieldGenius for Android to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using FieldGenius for Android app. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* FieldGenius for Android app.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power up and connect to the internet: Turn on your GNSS receiver and your Android device. FieldGenius sends NTRIP corrections over the data collector's connection, so make sure the Android device has internet (SIM or hotspot/Wi-Fi). FieldGenius works with many receiver brands (Emlid, Leica, Trimble, Topcon, CHCNAV, Stonex and others) via its drivers.
2. Open your project: Launch FieldGenius for Android and open or create a project to reach the main map screen.
3. Select the GNSS instrument profile: Tap 'Select Instrument', choose 'GNSS Rover' and add a new profile (name it after your receiver). For receivers without a dedicated driver, a generic profile (Make 'NMEA', Model 'Basic') is common - pick the named brand driver if listed.
4. Set up Bluetooth communication: Open 'Set Up Communication' (older builds: Edit → 'Model and Communication'). Set connection type to 'Bluetooth', tap 'Search', select your receiver, pair (some prompt for a PIN such as 123456), then 'Connect' and confirm it's connected.
5. Open the corrections / data source setup: Open 'Set Up Corrections' (or the three-dot menu next to 'Corrections' on the GNSS Rover screen). Older builds: Instrument Settings → 'Link Configure'. Wording varies by version - look for the corrections/reference data-source area.
6. Choose internet (NTRIP) corrections: Choose 'RTK via Internet' with the link device set to 'Data collector' ('Data Collector Internet') so FieldGenius streams NTRIP through the Android connection rather than a radio or the receiver's modem.
7. Add a new NTRIP correction source: Tap 'Set Up Data Source' then 'Add New Source' (older builds: 'Press to Modify' → NTRIP Casters → 'Add').
8. Enter the Premium Positioning caster: Name: any label (e.g. 'Premium Positioning'); Address / Server / Host: rtkpremium.xyz; Port: 2101; Protocol: NTRIP. Leave the mount point empty for now.
9. Enter your NTRIP username and password: Enter YOUR OWN NTRIP credentials from your Premium Positioning welcome email - unique to your account. Save the source ('Done').
10. Connect and retrieve the source table: Select the source and tap 'Connect'. FieldGenius downloads the NTRIP source table (mountpoints). Wait for the port to finish configuring.
11. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the source table choose COMMON. If your account has one stream it may already be selected; otherwise tap COMMON.
12. Confirm correction format and NMEA, then the mountpoint: Check 'Correction Format' (e.g. RTCM 3.x) and 'NMEA Required' - most network/VRS services need NMEA sent back, so leave it enabled unless told otherwise. Tap 'Confirm Selected Mountpoint' and wait for the link to configure.
13. Set antenna height and tolerances: Enter your antenna/pole height and accuracy tolerances so stored points meet your job's requirements. Tap 'Done' to return to the survey screen.
14. Confirm a Fixed solution: Watch the status move Autonomous → Float → RTK Fix. The receiver LED usually turns solid green when fixed. Collect points only once Fixed is stable. If it stays Float/Autonomous, re-check internet, the COMMON mountpoint, credentials, and sky view.

### If the fix will not hold

FieldGenius for Android is receiver-agnostic and supports many brands via its driver list, so wording differs slightly between versions/drivers - if a label doesn't match, find the nearest equivalent ('Set Up Data Source' vs 'Link Configure', 'Set Up Communication' vs 'Model and Communication'). Caster settings are the same for everyone; your username/password are personal and entered on the device only.
