# ComNav N5 / T30

These steps connect a ComNav N5 / T30 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Compass / SurvStar (Android). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Compass / SurvStar (Android).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power on and charge before you start: Switch on the N5 / T30 and give it a clear view of the sky (outdoors, away from buildings/trees). Power up your Android controller/phone and confirm it has working mobile-data or Wi-Fi - corrections come over the internet.
2. Open the field software and create/open a job: Launch Compass or SurvStar. Open or create a project ('Project'/'Job' menu) so survey data has somewhere to go. Wording varies by app version - look for the equivalent option.
3. Connect to the receiver over Bluetooth: Go to the connection screen ('Device' > 'Connect', or 'Config' > 'Communication'). Choose Bluetooth, search/scan, and select your receiver by its serial number. Pair if prompted - ComNav units commonly use PIN 0000 (some 1234). Wait for connected status.
4. Set the receiver to Rover mode: Open the working-mode screen ('Device' > 'Rover' / 'Work Mode', or 'Config' > 'Work Mode') and select Rover (also 'Auto Rover' on some menus) so it receives corrections.
5. Set the datalink to network / internet: In Rover settings, set 'Datalink' to the internet option - 'Internet', 'Network', 'GPRS', 'PDA Network' or 'Phone Internet' depending on whether the controller or the receiver's SIM provides the connection. Choose the controller/phone internet option unless you have a SIM in the receiver. Not Radio.
6. Choose NTRIP as the protocol: With the datalink set to network, select Protocol NTRIP ('Ntrip' / 'NTRIP Client'). Not APIS, TCP/IP direct, or other protocols.
7. Enter the caster address and port: In the NTRIP / CORS settings: Host / Server / IP: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101 (same for every customer). If the field is 'IP' and only accepts a numeric address, use the 'domain'/'address' field, or contact support for the resolved IP. Protocol stays NTRIP.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Type the NTRIP username/password issued to YOU in your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. The connection fails without your own valid credentials.
9. Retrieve the source table (mountpoint list): Tap the button that fetches the streams - 'Get', 'Get Source Table', 'Get Mountpoint', or a refresh icon next to the mountpoint field. If nothing appears, re-check host, port, internet, and credentials.
10. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the source table, select COMMON - the fixed mountpoint for all customers. Scroll/search if the list is long. Confirm/OK.
11. Connect to the caster: Tap Connect ('Apply' then 'Connect', or 'OK'). The app logs in to rtkpremium.xyz with your credentials and streams RTCM. A connection/active indicator or data-flow counter starts.
12. Confirm a Fixed solution: Watch the solution status (main survey screen or status bar): Single → Float → Fixed within \~10 - 60 s under open sky. Only at Fixed are coordinates at full cm accuracy. If it stays Float/Single, check that COMMON is selected, you have open sky, and your credentials/internet are correct.
13. Start surveying: Once Fixed, go to your measure/stakeout screen and collect points. If the connection drops, re-open the NTRIP/datalink screen and tap Connect again; the saved settings should still be in place.

### If the fix will not hold

Compass and SurvStar are both Android apps for ComNav/SinoGNSS receivers and share the same flow, but exact menu/button names differ between apps and versions - treat 'Datalink', 'Get Source Table', 'Work Mode' as the nearest equivalent if your screen differs. The receiver needs clear sky and the controller needs working internet.
