# CHCNAV i83 / i73

These steps connect a CHCNAV i83 / i73 to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using LandStar 7. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* LandStar 7.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Power up and connect the receiver: Turn on your CHCNAV i83 / i73, open LandStar 7, and go to Config > Connect (Bluetooth). Select your receiver and connect. Wait until LandStar reports it connected before continuing.
2. Get the controller online: NTRIP arrives over the internet. If the receiver uses its own SIM/modem you'll set the APN later; if corrections come via the controller, make sure the controller has working mobile-data or Wi-Fi now.
3. Open the work mode list: Go to Config > Work Mode. Tap New to create a new work mode (you can save and reuse it next time).
4. Set the receiver as a rover: Switch RTK on, then set Work Mode to Auto Rover so the receiver listens for incoming corrections rather than broadcasting them.
5. Choose the network data link: Set Datalink to Receiver Network if the receiver's own modem/SIM dials out, or to the controller-internet option ('Phone Internet', 'Controller Internet' or 'PDA Network' by version) if it uses the controller's connection. Pick the network/internet option, not radio.
6. Select the NTRIP protocol: Set Protocol to NTRIP. On some LandStar 7 builds this is labelled CORS - CORS and NTRIP are the same network-correction protocol here, so choose whichever your screen shows.
7. Enter the caster address: In the server/CORS fields, enter Host (IP/Address): rtkpremium.xyz and Port: 2101. If you selected Receiver Network with a SIM, tap the APN set button to enter your SIM's APN.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP credentials: Enter the User name and Password for your NTRIP account - the personal credentials from your welcome email, unique to you. Do not share them or use anyone else's.
9. Download the source table: Tap Download (also 'Get' / 'Source list' by version) to retrieve the source table. LandStar contacts rtkpremium.xyz with your credentials and lists the available mount points.
10. Select the COMMON mount point: From the source table, select COMMON - the correction stream all Premium Positioning customers use.
11. Confirm RTCM message settings: If LandStar shows RTCM 1021 - 1027 (datum transformation) toggles, leave them at the default. Switch these off only if the mount point doesn't provide them; for COMMON keep defaults unless support says otherwise.
12. Save and accept the work mode: Tap Save. At 'Please Set a Name for The New Mode' enter a name (e.g. PP-COMMON) and OK, then OK at 'Create Mode Successfully'. Select the new mode and tap Accept.
13. Confirm the CORS/NTRIP details: LandStar shows a CORS information screen - re-check Host, Port and the COMMON mount point, then tap OK.
14. Verify a Fixed solution: The solution status progresses Single → Float → Fixed (the status LED flashes as it locks). On the survey/status screen confirm it reads Fixed before measuring. If it stays Single/Float, recheck internet, caster Host/Port, your credentials, and that COMMON is selected.

### If the fix will not hold

Menu/button labels differ slightly between LandStar 7 versions (and LandStar 8): the protocol may read NTRIP or CORS, the source-table button Download/Get/Source, and the controller-internet data link Phone Internet/Controller Internet/PDA Network. Choose the closest network/internet option.
