# Carlson BRx7 / BRx6+

These steps connect a Carlson BRx7 / BRx6+ to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Carlson SurvPC / SurvCE. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Carlson SurvPC / SurvCE.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Get an internet connection: NTRIP corrections arrive over the internet, so the data collector needs to be online - a SIM in the collector/receiver, or a Wi-Fi hotspot from a phone/MiFi. Power on the BRx7/BRx6+ with clear sky and pair it to your controller over Bluetooth first.
2. Open GPS Rover: From the SurvPC/SurvCE main menu tap Equip > GPS Rover. Carlson Layout uses the same flow.
3. Set the receiver and connect: On the Comms / Current tab set Manufacturer to Carlson and Model to your unit (BRx7 or BRx6+), then connect over Bluetooth. Wait until it reports connected.
4. Go to the RTK tab: Tap the RTK tab - this is where you tell SurvPC where the correction stream comes from.
5. Set the Device (internet source): In Device pick where the internet lives: 'Data Collector GSM or WiFi' if the tablet is online (SIM or hotspot), or 'Receiver GSM' / Internal GSM if the SIM is in the BRx7. For a receiver SIM, tap the gears icon to set your provider's APN and confirm.
6. Set Network to NTRIP: In Network choose NTRIP, then tap the gears/wrenches icon next to Network to open the NTRIP Broadcasters window.
7. Add the Premium Positioning caster: Tap New (or add/edit) to create a caster named e.g. 'Premium Positioning'. Enter IP addr / Server: rtkpremium.xyz, Port: 2101.
8. Enter YOUR NTRIP credentials: Enter the User name and Password from your Premium Positioning welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's.
9. Download the mountpoint list: Tap the green check. SurvPC connects to rtkpremium.xyz and downloads the broadcast table (mountpoints) into the Name drop-down.
10. Select the COMMON mountpoint: In the Name / base-station drop-down choose COMMON. (Some networks offer a NEAR/NRST auto-nearest entry, but for Premium Positioning select COMMON.) Tap the green check.
11. Confirm the configuration: Back on the RTK tab, check it shows the Premium Positioning caster with the COMMON mountpoint, then tap the green check to apply.
12. Confirm a FIXED solution: Go to Equip > Monitor/Skyplot > Quality tab. Status should change to FIXED within a minute or two (cm accuracy). If it stays Float/Autonomous, re-check credentials, that the controller is online, and Server/Port/Mountpoint. Take a checkshot on a known point before surveying.

### If the fix will not hold

Wording varies by SurvPC/SurvCE version (e.g. Device may read 'Data Collector Internet'; the gears icon may appear as wrenches), and Carlson Layout follows the same flow. Tip: once FIXED, Save these as a configuration profile from the GPS Rover - Current tab to reload next time.
