# Carlson BRx6 / BRx6+ / Surveyor+

These steps connect a Carlson BRx6 / BRx6+ / Surveyor+ to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using Carlson SurvCE / SurvPC. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* Carlson SurvCE / SurvPC.
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Get your receiver online and open the job: Power on the BRx6 / BRx6+ (or Surveyor+) and your data collector. Make sure the data collector has working internet (built-in SIM/cellular, paired phone hotspot, or Wi-Fi) BEFORE you start - SurvCE/SurvPC uses it to reach the caster. Open SurvCE/SurvPC and load or start your job.
2. Open Equip > GPS Rover: From the main menu tap Equip, then GPS Rover. The rover configuration dialog opens with tabs across the top (Current, Comms, Receiver, RTK). Work through them left to right.
3. Set Manufacturer and Model (Current tab): On the Current tab, set Manufacturer to Carlson and Model to your receiver (BRx6 / BRx6+, or the matching Surveyor+ option). If your exact model isn't listed, choose the closest Carlson BRx6 entry - the correction workflow is the same.
4. Connect to the receiver (Comms tab): Tap the Comms tab. Set Type to Bluetooth, set BT Type to match your data collector, tap the wrenches icon, tap Find Device, select your receiver's serial number, and connect (pairing code usually 1234 if prompted). On some versions the connect control is a Bluetooth plug icon.
5. Set antenna details (Receiver tab): Tap the Receiver tab. Set Antenna Type to your BRx6 / BRx6+ and enter the correct Antenna Height (e.g. 2 m measured Vertical on a standard pole), using the measurement method that matches your setup.
6. Open the RTK tab and choose the correction source: Tap the RTK tab. Set Device to Data Collector Internet (routes corrections over the data collector's connection; some versions label it 'Data Collector GSM' or 'Data Collector Wifi'). Then set Network to NTRIP.
7. Open the NTRIP Broadcasters configuration: Tap the wrenches icon next to the Network field to open the NTRIP Broadcasters list, then tap New (or Add) to create a new broadcaster entry. Wording varies slightly by version - look for the option that adds a new caster/broadcaster.
8. Enter the caster address and port: Give the entry a recognisable Name (e.g. 'Premium Positioning'). Enter Host / IP address rtkpremium.xyz and Port 2101 - the same for every customer.
9. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Enter the NTRIP User name and Password issued to YOU in your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. If you can't find them, contact support first.
10. Download the base (mountpoint) list: Tap the green check to save and connect. SurvCE/SurvPC contacts the caster and downloads the source table (the list of bases/mountpoints). If nothing appears, re-check host, port, credentials, and that the collector still has internet.
11. Select the COMMON mountpoint: From the downloaded base list, select COMMON. Tap the green check to confirm; COMMON shows as the current Base ID on the RTK tab. With NTRIP the correction type/position-sending settings are handled automatically and may appear greyed out - that's normal.
12. Save the rover configuration: Tap the green check (top-right) to apply and save. SurvCE/SurvPC initialises the rover and streams corrections from COMMON over your internet connection.
13. Confirm a FIXED solution before surveying: Go outside with clear sky. Open Equip > Monitor/Skyplot (label varies) and watch the solution status. Wait until it reads FIXED with a low correction latency (typically under \~5 s) before measuring. FLOAT or AUTONOMOUS is not yet survey-accurate.

### If the fix will not hold

Exact menu wording, the Device dropdown option (Data Collector Internet vs GSM/Wifi), and the Monitor/Skyplot label vary between SurvCE/SurvPC versions - the sequence Equip > GPS Rover > RTK tab > Device = Data Collector Internet > Network = NTRIP > configure broadcaster > select COMMON is the same across versions. The data collector must have its own working internet first.
