# ArcGIS Field Maps

These steps connect an ArcGIS Field Maps to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using ArcGIS Field Maps app (+ receiver/companion app for NTRIP). They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account on the customer portal.
* ArcGIS Field Maps app (+ receiver/companion app for NTRIP).
* A working internet connection on the controller or phone.
* A clear view of the sky at the point you are measuring.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Understand the two-part setup: ArcGIS Field Maps does NOT have its own NTRIP client. The cm-level correction (NTRIP) is configured on your GNSS receiver or its companion app (e.g. Trimble Mobile Manager, Eos Tools Pro, Emlid Flow, or the receiver's own NTRIP client). Field Maps then reads the corrected position from that receiver. So: (1) get the receiver onto Premium Positioning corrections, then (2) connect Field Maps to the receiver.
2. Pair the receiver to your phone/tablet first: Turn on your GNSS receiver and pair it over Bluetooth in the device's system settings (or via the receiver's companion app). Field Maps can only see receivers that are already paired/connected.
3. Open your receiver's NTRIP settings (companion app or on-receiver): Open the app that controls your receiver and find its NTRIP / correction / RTK source settings. This varies by brand: Trimble/Spectra use Trimble Mobile Manager > correction source; Eos Arrow uses Eos Tools Pro > RTK/NTRIP; Emlid uses Emlid Flow > Correction input > NTRIP; some controllers have NTRIP built in. Use your receiver's manual for the exact menu name.
4. Enter the Premium Positioning caster details: In that NTRIP screen, enter Host/Server rtkpremium.xyz, Port 2101, Protocol NTRIP. (Labels may read 'Address', 'Caster', 'Server'.)
5. Enter YOUR NTRIP username and password: Enter your own NTRIP username and password from your welcome email - unique to your account; do not use anyone else's. Field Maps never sees these; they live only on the receiver/app.
6. Select the COMMON mountpoint: After the connection details are entered, pick the mountpoint (sometimes 'Source table', 'Stream', or 'Data stream') - choose COMMON. If you must connect before the list loads, type COMMON manually.
7. Confirm the receiver itself reaches a Fixed solution: In the receiver's app, wait until it reports RTK Fixed ('Fixed', 'RTK Fix', or a fix-type indicator with sub-3 cm accuracy). Don't move on until the receiver shows Fixed; if it stays 'Float' or 'Single', recheck the caster values, credentials, mountpoint, and your internet.
8. Open Field Maps and go to the location provider settings: In Field Maps, from the Maps list tap your Profile icon, then under Location tap Provider. (Wording shifts slightly between app versions and iOS/Android, but it's under Profile/Settings > Location > Provider.)
9. Add your receiver as a provider: Tap Add Provider (a '+' on some versions), then select your receiver from the available/paired devices. For Trimble/Spectra receivers, choose the 'Trimble Mobile Manager' provider so Field Maps reads the corrected position from TMM.
10. Set the antenna height: When prompted, enter the antenna height in metres (ground/range-pole tip up to the antenna). Note: some receivers (e.g. via TMM, or those that auto-apply the antenna phase-centre offset) want the height set in their own app instead - follow your receiver's guide and don't enter it twice. Tap Done/Save.
11. Make this receiver the current provider: Back in the provider list, tap your receiver to make it the active location source. Field Maps now uses the receiver's corrected position instead of the phone's internal GPS.
12. Set or pick a Location Profile (coordinate system / datum): Under Profile > Location, tap Profile (the location profile, not your user profile). Add a profile matching your correction service's coordinate system (GNSS coordinate system, map coordinate system, datum transformation if offered). If unsure, the default assumes WGS 1984 - check with Premium Positioning which reference frame applies.
13. Confirm a Fixed / cm-level position inside Field Maps: Return to the map. Tap the GPS/location button or accuracy banner to view the location status. Confirm Field Maps is reading from your receiver and showing a small horizontal accuracy (a few centimetres). If accuracy is metres, the receiver dropped out of Fixed - recheck the NTRIP connection in the receiver's app. Once cm-level, you're ready to collect high-accuracy data.

### If the fix will not hold

Field Maps has no built-in NTRIP client - all correction settings (host rtkpremium.xyz, port 2101, mountpoint COMMON, NTRIP, plus your personal username/password) are entered in the receiver or its companion app (TMM, Eos Tools Pro, Emlid Flow), not in Field Maps. Field Maps connects via Profile > Location > Provider and reads the corrected position. UI labels and antenna-height handling vary by version/receiver. Achieve Fixed on the receiver first, then confirm cm accuracy in Field Maps.
