# CLAAS GPS Pilot

Connect CLAAS GPS Pilot steering to RTK Premium corrections over NTRIP.

These steps connect CLAAS GPS Pilot steering to the Premium Positioning correction network over NTRIP, using the terminal's correction settings or an NTRIP-capable modem. They assume you already have your NTRIP credentials.

### Before you start

* Your NTRIP username and password, from your Premium Positioning welcome email or your account in the XYZ Platform.

* A CLAAS terminal with a data connection, or an NTRIP-capable modem that feeds corrections to the receiver.
* No phone or hotspot in the field? If your controller or receiver takes a SIM, Premium Positioning [IoT SIMs](https://www.premium-positioning.com/products?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=referral\&utm_campaign=docs\&utm_content=claas-gps-pilot#iot-sims) give it its own data connection.
* A clear view of the sky where you are working.

### Network settings

These are the same for every Premium Positioning customer. Only your username and password are unique to you.

* Server or host: rtkpremium.xyz
* Port: 2101
* Mountpoint: COMMON
* Protocol: NTRIP

### Steps

1. Check the correction path: The path depends on your terminal model and firmware. If your terminal has no built-in NTRIP client, set up an NTRIP-capable modem to feed the receiver and enter the settings below in the modem instead.
2. Select NTRIP as the correction source: In the terminal's correction settings, select 'NTRIP' as the correction source.
3. Enter the caster address and port: Enter rtkpremium.xyz as the host and 2101 as the port.
4. Enter your NTRIP username and password: Type your own credentials exactly as they appear in your welcome email. They are case-sensitive and unique to your account.
5. Set the mountpoint: Enter COMMON as the mountpoint.
6. Confirm RTK Fixed before steering: Wait for the terminal to report 'RTK Fixed' before you engage steering.

### If the fix will not hold

Menu labels and the correction path differ between CLAAS terminal models and firmware versions, so match the nearest equivalent on your terminal. The terminal or modem needs a live data connection while you work. If the solution will not reach or hold RTK Fixed, recheck the host, the port, the COMMON mountpoint and your credentials. If your setup offers an option to send GGA or position to the caster, keep it on, because the network uses your approximate position.
